Australian stand-off Gary Lester has replaced Alan Hunte as skipper of Hull Sharks.

Coach Peter Walsh said: "We've taken the decision in an effort to take some pressure off Alan.

"Hopefully, it will enable him to concentrate more on his own game as opposed to the team as a whole.

"It's been done in a positive manner, and with Gary al-ready being an influential talker on the pitch, we believe it will work"

Hunte has been linked with a move to Odsal on several occasions, and Hull were in contact with the champions last week about a possible deal.

But I understand the Bulls have been frightened off by his contract demands.

Despite their injury problems the Bulls are being careful not to be forced into a deal.
