Men and women who are forced to share the same showers at their community centre are asking big hearted builders to spare their bath-time blushes.
Whenever members of the Fagley Community Centre take part in physical activities at the centre in Fagley Road they have to take it in turns to use the same solitary showers.
But they want to extend its toilets to create wash areas for men and women, including two separate shower rooms.
Despite shopping around, the cheapest estimates Alan Clarke - the centre's senior youth community worker - could find, ranged from £40,000 to £50,000 for the conversion, which the centre cannot afford.
But after doing his sums Alan has come up with a solution which would pave the way for the new facilities and save any shower time shenanigans.
He said: "Everyone has to share the same cubicle and it can get a bit difficult. We've got a women's football team but they've got a male coach so he can't get in the shower with them.
"Basically what we want is a builder to come along to give us a quote for the labour only. I've been told the materials alone will be in the region of £7,000 and if we just pay for the labour then we could afford to have the work done.
"The problem is we only have the one shower room and we need this extension so that we have got showers and changing rooms for the sports activities that go on at the centre."
Paula Marshall, 14, who lives on the Fagley Estate, is one of the members of the women's football team.
She said: "There are boys and men who want to use the showers as well as the women and they go first. They usually take ages so it would be much better if could get some new showers."
Mr Clarke said he hoped to get builders to come in and price up the cost of labour within the next four to five weeks.
