Parents whose sons or daughters are hooked on drugs are being offered help by a Keighley advice service.

Project 6, which supports drug and alcohol abusers, is running a new course for relatives of addicts.

Advice workers will provide information on the effects of drugs, why people take them, and how to deal with overdoses.

Parents and other family members can learn how to set boundaries so they can help rather than make things worse for themselves and the user

Jan Coggins, an HIV, drug and alcohol worker at Project 6, says participants will be able to share ideas and useful methods they have discovered.

He adds: "Hopefully people can get to know each other and have someone to share problems with."

The course will run for four Wednesdays (6.40-8.30pm) from June 24 at Project 6's base in Temple Street.

Anyone interested in taking part should phone 610180. If the course is filled another will be organised in the near future.
