Oakworth's Craig Bottomley lost out to Chorley's Pat Boyd in the battle of former champs chasing third spot in Sunday's third round of the BOFRA championship at Cracoe. Titleholder and Bingley Harrier Mark Kinch cruised to victory with Andy Wrench second.
Bottomley's Keighley and Craven AC clubmate Eamon Hastings had one of his best finishes. He figured in the prize money after coming fourth vet, a category won by Kendal's irrepressible Billy Proctor.
Proctor's son Ben lost out to Keighley and Craven's James Mason in the U17s. The longer course suited Mason, from nearby Threshfield, and he dominated his race as much as senior winner Kinch.
