WITH two wins at Pendle and Buttermere, and a second placing Veteran-40 at Culter Fell in Scotland, has secured Ilkley runner Jo Prowse the British Veteran's Over-40 champion title in the FRA Championships.
The tough 12-mile course over heather and pathless fells proved a great challenge and left Jo with sore legs.
"I ache all over!" she said at the end of the race.
Coming on top of a win in the Yorkshire Vets 5k Championship at Esholt the week before and selection to run for Greater Manchester County in the Inter-Counties Championship at Winder Hill, Sedbergh, on June 14, Jo feels on top of the world.
"I need to continue my training but have had a short rest after Culter to let my legs recover. Now I can focus on Winder and do my best there. It is a great opportunity to run with runners from all over the country".
Jo is currently looking for willing sponsors to help with the ongoing regular expenses of travel, kit, etc.
