Thousands of people took their brollies to brave the weekend weather at galas and fun days across the district.
The crowds turned out to show their support and celebrations went ahead despite heavy downpours.
The 32nd annual Brighouse Gala was a roaring success, attracting thousands of visitors from Bradford, Kirklees and Calder-dale. As well as the usual stalls and bands, two inflatable Sumo wrestlers battled it out and entertained the crowds.
The event aims to raise funds for local charity and voluntary organisations. Gala committee chairman Richard Mitchell said: "All the organisations I've spoken to have been very pleased with the level of fundraising. The street collection alone raised around £1,600.
"It was a great turnout considering the weather. We thought last year's was one of the wettest ever - this year we had to put up with thunderstorms."
Around 2,000 people flocked to the recreation ground in Eldwick to enjoy the annual gala. Attractions included a procession of floats and marching bands, stalls, and a circus performer. But the highlight of the day was a challenge to mark the 50th anniversary of Scouting in West Yorkshire, where teams of local cubs had to put up a flagpole against the clock.
Gala committee secretary Ann Foster said: "There were a couple of torrential downpours during the day, but everyone just got on with it and had a good time."
And down at Bradford City Farm scores of youngsters got a closer look at their favourite animals during a family fun day.
On Sunday the Bradford and Airedale branch of the National Childbirth Trust staged a sponsored toddle, picnic and animal safari in Roberts Park, Saltaire. All proceeds from the event will go towards funding local charity work supporting women through pregnancy and parenthood.
And more than 2,000 revellers took part in Guiseley Carnival, which featured a children's entertainer, line dancing, cheerleading and a tug of war.
The event is organised by Guiseley Senior Citizens to raise money for their annual outing. Chairman Marian Ealham said: "Everyone had a fantastic time and we even avoided the rain."
