Bradford and Bingley play York in a re-arranged North Division Two match at Clifton Park tomorrow, with both sides aware that they are drinking at the last-chance saloon.

Both teams are in mid-table with eight points, and any realistic chance of promotion will go out of the window with another defeat.

As if this was not incentive enough, the Bees and York both suffered NPI Intermediate Cup defeats last Satur-day. Bradford and Bingley went down at home to West Park Bramhope, while York lost 16-9 at Horden Colliery Welfare.

The Bees - still seeking their first away points this season - delay selection because of injury doubts.

Skipper and No 8 Mark Heap went off midway through the second half with a knee injury last weekend, and centre Carlos Hassan has a tendon problem.

Both will face late fitness tests, as will lock Richard Hagerty, who has missed the last two matches with a twisted knee.

Back into the squad, however, come prop Andy Smith, flanker Peter Watts and centre Jon Paul Rimington.

Elsewhere, it is the first round of the Independent Agriculture Yorkshire Shield and Yorkshire Silver Trophy, and one of the most intriguing contests is the visit of Bradford Salem to West Leeds in the Shield.

Salem are second in Yorkshire Div-ision One and West Leeds second in Yorkshire Division Two.

The Heaton side will, however, be without their skipper Simon Markey (twisted knee), Julian Blunt coming in at hooker.

Wibsey, who are gradually getting things together, hope to welcome back line-out specialist Mark Sanders at Stocksbridge PS.

Ilkley give former Keighley and Wharfedale player Nigel Shuttleworth his first team debut in the home tie against Whitby.

Sean Atkinson returns from injury to partner him at centre, and prop Andy Johnson and flanker Joe Widdup are preferred to Ray Dennis and Dave Hornsby, who both drop to the bench.

It is also the first round of the Yorkshire Silver Trophy and Baildon choose from 19 for their trip to Stanley Rodillians. Aireborough have a West Yorkshire derby at Ossett.

Otley, Keighley and Cleckheaton all have club matches, while Wharfedale have no fixture.
