RACE WALKER Catherine Charnock is one step away from a place in the English team for the Commonwealth Games.
Catherine, 22, is a member of the Bradford Athlics Development scheme and trains at Keighley's Greenhead track.
Last weekend she completed a 10k walk in 49mins 02 seconds, just two seconds outside the qualifying time for the Commonwealth Games. Her performance also smashed two minutes off her own personal best time.
The women's trials for the games are to be held on July 18 when Catherine aims to get inside the qualifying time and clinch a place in England's top three.
"Catherine has been training well, and although their is no guarantee she will get to the games in Kwala Lumpa she is on top form and rated No3 in the country at the moment," said coach John Woodcock.
