All the hard work put in by the rallying Nolan Brothers paid off in the Dukeries Rally, run through the woods of Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire.
With a late entry into the event they were seeded down the field in 25th position. The late start can cause problems with the course cutting up and passing slower cars infront, but they were not put off.
Jeremy and Paul, members of Keighley Motor club, started well, swapping fastest stage times with the top seeded drivers, many of which had more powerful engines than their 1600cc Skoda kit car.
The event was won by Adam Kent in a 2litre Peugeot 306 in a time of 50m 25secs, but the Brothrs were hot on their heels, finishing fourth overall and 1st in class just 1m 34secs behind the winner and only four seconds behind third place.
Paul Burns from Beechcliffe, Keighley, has also been out, co-driving for Ilkley-based driver Neil Normington. Thier Vauxhall Astra Gsi as third in the N3 class despite an acrobatic performance.
Paul said: "I've never spun round in a rally car so many times. I lost count after spin 13, the problem was our tyres were too wide for the wet and slippery conditions.
The next event for both Keighley & District MotorClub members is the 'Jim Clark Memorial Rally' the only all-tarmac rally to be held on public roads in Britain.

The event takes place on July 3-5.
