Firefighters were called to a house in Coronation Way, Braithwaite, on Sunday morning when a burning pan caused severe smoke logging.
The occupier had gone out, leaving the pan unattended.
A fire service spokesman says: "Once again we would like to reiterate the message that people should never leave pans unattended. Fortunately in this case it was just smoke damage, but it could have been a lot more serious."
A Sherpa Rover van parked in Woodhouse Avenue, Keighley, was badly damaged by fire in the early hours of Saturday.
It is believed youths started the blaze by pushing burning materials through the damaged windscreen of the vehicle.
