Competing at llkey Tennis Tournament this week was young Mihalis Kouvatsos of Esscroft. Burley-in-Wharfedale, who last weekend won the City of Leeds Junior singles and doubles - the latter in partnership with Hassan Abbas.
The lowest age group Mihalis could enter at his home club tournament was Under-12's and he stepped out in the singles on Monday.
He was recently runner-up in the Monica Seles Tournament at Halifax and was a member of the Yorkshire team which finished as runners-up in a quadrangular tournament with Lancashire, Cheshire and Wales.
At the end of August Mihalis will compete in the Yorkshire Championships at Hull.
Joining Mihalis as a champion at the City of Leeds tournament was 10 year-old Caroline Mount of Guiseley. She won the girls' 10 and under title at the South Leeds Stadium where she plays her tennis.
Caroline like many other youngsters took up the sport after taking part in a short tennis course at Aireborough Leisure Centre. She was the Yorkshire 8 and under short tennis champion.
