Producer Jim Loach and his team have just finished filming in the town as part of a programme examining banking errors.
The team chose Ilkley because of its size, range of businesses and its beautiful location - not because they believed Ilkley had a particular problem with banking errors.
Mr Loach said: "Obviously I am not prepared to reveal the results of our research prior to the screening of the programme, but I can safely say the results went far beyond anything we expected."
"I have been delighted with the response we have from businesses and individuals. I think we have used 40 different accounts and met some really nice people," he said.
"I think there was a bit of suspicion at first. This is a very sensitive area and people have to be absolutely sure they are happy for other people to examine their bank statements or mortgage payments," he said.
