HELEN BUTTERFIELD won the Ladies Scratch Open Day at Bingley St Ives'.

She returned scores of 69 and 78 for a 36-hole total of 147 to win the title by five shots from Sara Garbutt of Knaresborough (77-75-152). Third place went to Sarah Naden of Woodsome Hall 76-76-152.

The best morning round was a 73 by Deana Rushworth of Woodsome Hall and Bingley member Janine Aldersley carded the best afternoon round with a 77.

Helen Butterfield also won the scratch trophy in the August Medal with a gross 75. The Nett Trophy went to competition winner Dorothy Carr who scored 88-17-71. Kath Green won the Bronze Division (99-24-75).
