Following an article regarding Regency Court residential home on page 2 of the Keighley News last week, we have been asked to make the following statement:
"Regency Court Residential Home at Thw-aites was taken over by Mr and Mrs D Pittea on March 5, 1998. Mr and Mrs Pittea are both qualified nurses and Mrs Fawzia Pittea is the manager. They were both distressed to learn about the injuries to Mrs Baker and hope that she has made as full a recovery as is possible.
"The ethos behind Regency Court is to provide a safe, homely and friendly environment for elderly ladies and gentlemen in the later years of their lives. The home is registered with Bradford council for 20 residents and has now been accredited by the local authority to accept elderly people for day care. The home was successfully inspected by Bradford council's Registration and Inspection Unit in April.
"The proprietors undertook a thorough review of the home on assuming responsibility and in particular have taken steps to minimise any risks that residents may experience. The radiator which caused the unfortunate burns to Mrs Baker has been removed from that room.
"Mrs Pittea is well aware that residents and their family need to feel they are in a safe environment. Mrs Pittea and her staff are more than welcome for any one to come and visit them at Regency Court Residential Home, Thwaites House Farm, Thwaites Village, Keighley, and the telephone number is 606630."
