Oakworth and Bradley are locked together in their battle for the championship -- and both won last weekend.
Oakworth were at home to Bradley, who batted first and made 141-7 in their overs. Neil Robinson scored 53 and Eddie Drake 21. Robert Jeffrey took 4-58 in 15 overs. The Cure Hill side passed that total, for the loss of six wickets, in the 37th over. Michael Scarborough made 50 and Steve Lilley 37.
Meanwhile at Gargrave, after much mopping up, Embsay started steadily but reached 151-5 with Duncan Bullough scoring 76. Gargrave started brightly by adding 50 for the first wicket. However with an 8pm finish in place Embsay neded to bowl 25 overs in the last hour to snatch the points and managed it with a few minutes to spare.
Haworth are third after seeing off the challenge of Foulridge by 21 runs. The Bronte side batted first and posted 179. Trevor Christian in the runs again with 58 and Colin Williamson 43 as Nawaz took 5-48. The Noyna side were dismissed for 158 with Duncan Marsden taking 4-18.
Carleton, who are fourth, dropped two points behind Haworth after their game over at Pendle Forest was called off.
U Wharfedale did themselves a lot of good by beating Cowling in a high scoring game at Wood Lane. The Dalesmen were at their best as they smashed 251-6. Glen Harrison scored a superb 112 and Paul Drinkall 56. Neil Hargreaves took 3-61. Cowling, desperate for the points themselves, made a massive effort, but fell 40 runs short. Martyn Dalby scored 66, Mark Richardson 42 and Hargreaves 42. John Stephenson who took 6-40 including a hat-trick was the game breaker.
In the basement battle at Sutton, the home side managed a five wicket victory over next to bottom Cononley. The visitors were restricted to 126 with Ian Thompson top scoring on 33 as Gary Williams took 5-42. Paul Williams 31 led the successful reply.
Second Division leaders Thornton reached 127 all out at Chatburn, Rod Booth taking 5-57. In reply the home side were shot out for 79.
Barrowford slipped into second spot after their eight wicket triumph up at Morton. The Ingrow St John's were restricted to 122 with David Greenwood 41 as Stuart Hargreaves took 4-41. Graham Lambert led the reply with 66no assisted by Chris Hartley 24 and Pete Wellman 22no.
Long Lee relinquished second spot after their fruitless journey to Jimmy Nelson's where play was impossible.
Haworth West End are fifth. They delivered a crushing 10 wicket defeat to Keighley Tech at Rose Cottage. The home side were dismissed for 113 with Alan Crook scoring 33. Jason Bilbrough 5-55 and Andy Parker 5-53 were the successful bowlers. Lee Bilbrough and Adam Bailey both scored 51no as the easy victory was achieved.
Airedale travelled to Glusburn and brushed them aside by eight wickets. The home side were restricted to 139 in their innings with Matthew Phillips making 50 as Giles Wilmore took 5-27. Phil Loftus made 50 and P Feather 43 for the winners.
Skipton CI struggled to 140-4 at home to Barnoldswick III, Nick Williamson scoring 58. The Victory Park side struggled even more as they could only make 77-8 in their 45 over reply, John Drake taking 4-40 and P McCarten 3-16.
Third Division leaders, Oakworth, look to have one hand on the trophy as they stride on in impressive style. They travelled to Bradley and made 155-8 with David Brunskill 55. Ashley Walmsley took 5-52. The home side were restricted to 124 with Paul McGowan top scoring on 22 as Jason Lockley claimed 5-48.
Trailing six points behind are Embasy who needed a good win to put last week's heavy Cowling Cup semi-final defeat behind them. They plundered 238-3 against Skipton CI, Rob Bateman scoring 80 and Paul Barwick 77no which included 26 off the last over.
Skipton were enterprising in their reply led by John Carlisle (49), but were all out for a creditable 146.
Upper Wharfedale are a further six points behind in third spot. They travelled to Long Lee and dismissed their hosts for 108, Paul Allen scoring 38 as Malc Watson took 4-42 and Casper Bean 3-39. The latter then made 34 as the Dalesmen won by six wickets.
Haworth and Thornton swapped places after the Bronte side creamed the day's highest score, 261-3 in their 45 overs. Damian Rowell scored a splendid 111no, Derek Bright 66 and Dave Walsh 53. Thornton were restricted to 124-8 in their overs with Jeff Hewson scoring a gritty 50no.
Haworth WE managed a four wicket win at home to Sutton who made 101-7. In the Bronte side's innings veteran George Stubley made 41no.
In the red rose derby at Barrowford, visitors Pendle Forsest sneaked a narrow seven runs victory.
Glusburn are leaders of the Fourth Division. They travelled to Airedale and made 135-7 with John Dickenson contributing 50no as Mark Watkin took 5-45. Rummy Smith put the skids under the homesters and they were back in the hut for 89.
Cowling are second after seeing off visitors Jimmy Nelsons. The home side were dismissed for a moderate 125 of which Richard Cleaver made 53, but nelson's could only reach 58 in reply.
Chatburn drop from joint leaders to third after they fell at Foulridge by 66 runs.
Carleton are still in the frame in fourth spot just four points behind the leaders. They whipped visitors Ingrow St John's out for just 43. Anthony Haigh took 4-21 and Jonathan Charlton 3-12. The Saints then reduced the home side to 14-4 before the two bowlers joined forces again with 20no and 7no respectively to take the points by six wickets.
Cononley were in fine fettle at home to Keighley Tech reaching 199-7 with C Calvert scoring 61 as R Hoyle took 4-78. The nine man visitors were shot out for just 47.
Gargrave enjoyed a welcome win - their third of the campaign - away to Pendle Forest III. The home side were dismissed for 92 Gargrave cruised to an eight wicket win with Nev Smith scoring 33.
