Keighley magistrates' bosses launched a nationwide search to fill a prestigious new post - but filled it with a member of staff from the town. Diane Belshaw has been chosen as the Magistrates Courts Services' executive manager serving Keighley and Bradford.
Diane, who lives in Lancashire, worked for the service in general management at Keighley for several years before becoming IT manager last year. She is one of three executive managers appointed for the West Riding. They will be responsible for improving services within cash-limited budgets and preparing the way forward for the next millennium.
Diane will take on much of the administrative work enabling the local Justices' Clerk to concentrate on providing legal advice and dealing with magistrates. She will also lead the West Riding area on financial probity within the accounts officers.
