Old-time dance organiser Maurice Bassinder has already made his plans for the new millennium - and he wants Keighley people to join the party.
Maurice has booked Victoria Hall on New Year's Eve 1999 for a special session of modern ballroom, sequence and Latin American dancing. And he expects hundreds of people to trip the light fantastic there as a new century and a new millennium begin.
Maurice organises regular dances at the hall and has hosted events there every New Year's Eve for the past eight years.
He is looking for ideas from local people on how to make the 1999 dance extra-special.
He says: "I'd love to have something like fireworks, and I'll probably arrange food for everyone. But I might have problems finding staff."
Maurice is no stranger to special events - he organised outdoor tea dances for Keighley Festival and last year's Bradford Centenery. He is hosting a similar event tomorrow afternoon in Bradford's Centenery Square as part of a day of music and dance for the Lord Mayor's Appeal.
Anyone with ideas for Maurice's Millennium, or who is willing to help, should phone him on 604655.
