A Yeadon family of four is to take part in a prestigious international festival of music to be held at Buxton later this month.
Peter Stebbings, his wife Jane and two daughters Nicola, 11 and Alice, 8, are to appear in Fiddler on the Roof to be staged by the Horsforth Grove Methodist Amateur Operatic Society at the International Festival of Musical Theatre at Buxton, Derbyshire, from August 16-31.
The Horsforth society was invited to take part in the festival during its presentation of the musical at Yeadon Town Hall in April.
The Stebbings family of Hawthorn Crescent, are all looking forward to the festival and in recent weeks have been busy rehearsing their lines and moves.
Peter is playing Lazar Wolf, Nicola has the role of Bielka while Jane and Alice are in the chorus.
He said: "We are delighted and honoured to have been asked to take part in the festival. We shall be taking our own costumes, set and props.
"I have been told they could provide a set for us but we prefer to take our own as it is part and parcel of the show."
Members of the society will travel down to Buxton on August 17 when they will be allowed to put up their scenery and lighting. They will then have to rehearse. The show is to be adjudicated.
