Keighley's recent revival was brought to an abrupt halt by league newcomers Morley -- when they suffered a crushing 79-run defeat.
The Lawkholme outfit must have fancied their chances after bowling the home side out for 150 with eight overs to spare. All the keighley bowlers enjoyed success as the last five Morley wickets fell for 25 runs.
Keighley made a disastrous start, slumping to 14 for six, which prompted the Keighley followers to start reaching for the record books.
Richard Wood and Rob McFarlane staged a minor recovery with a fighting partnership, but the damage was already too much to repair as Keighley folded to 71 all out.
Morley's opening bowler, Mark Tordoff was the chief destroyer with an excellent six-wicket haul, his swing bowling making the most of the helpful conditions.
This weekend sees Keighley face a difficult home fixture against Idle who are looking for an immediate return to the first division.
Keighley 2nds were put in to bat on a slow wicket, but Ian Tomlinson nd Nasser Kamal defied the conditions to score freely.
They put on 46 for the first wicket, but after both wickets fell the scoring rate slowed significantly as the Keighley batsmen struggled to find gaps in the field.
They managed to reach 135 before being dismissed in the 49th over, a much lower total than they would have liked.
In Morley's reply Keighley bowlers kept the runs down and made the visitors struggle to 44-4. Mohammed Arshed was the pick of the bowlers, taking five wickets for just 19 runs in his 17 overs. Andy Smith collected three wickets and Adam Balderstone captured two as Keighley bowled Morley out for 104 with five overs remaining.
Keighley have now won their last three matches, but have a tough away fixture this weekend when they play leaders Idle.
