Keighley Business Forum is widening the scope of its award-winning Waste Minimisation Programme.
The forum, headed by Iain Copping, is turning the project into a regional programme. The programme, with 80 companies already on its books, is using the £265,000 of Government money it was awarded recently to set up a Yorkshire Environmental Management Virtual College of Excellence.
The college means KBF can offer hi-tech environmental training to businesses, schools, community groups and individuals in waste minimisation and other areas.
Chris Sealey, KBF Waste Minimisation's manager, said: "Our latest pioneering initiative, which provides companies with the opportunity to treat waste minimisation as a strategic issue and so enhance their business performance, widens the scope of our programme considerably."
KBF plans workshops and company visits in October in partnership with Brian Burton and David Borley of Ilkley-based Burton Associates, who have many years' experience dealing with a variety of firms.
