Residents are to have their say on plans for a giant new dumping ground.
Denholme Town Council has called a public meeting to allow people to air their views on the controversial scheme for a landfill site at Buck Park Quarry.
Humberside-based company, Wastewise, has applied to Bradford Council for permission to tip up to 2.5 million tonnes of household, commercial and industrial waste.
But concerns have been voiced about the impact of extra lorries using nearby roads and the possible threat of pollution, smells, flies and other nuisances.
Shipley Labour MP Chris Leslie has raised his own fears about the application in a House of Commons debate.
Now Denholme Town Council has organised a meeting to give members of the public a chance to express their views before the Council decides on the application.
The meeting will be held on September 14 at the Mechanics Institute in Denholme, and the final decision on the scheme will be made by Bradford Council later in the year.
If the scheme is approved, Wastewise will be allowed to tip up to 250,000 tonnes of waste annually at the quarry for ten years.
