Yorkshire star Gavin Hamilton's international future is being discussed by both the International Cricket Council and the England and Wales Cricket Board.
The organisations are locked in talks over whether Hamilton is eligible to play for England - or if he is only available for Scotland.
Earlier this season, Hamilton rather hesitantly agreed to be part of Scotland's World Cup squad next summer and has represented them in a one-day international against Bangladesh.
His chances of ever playing for England appeared remote at the time but things have changed following his dramatic all-round improvement in form. This culminated in Hamilton scoring 79 and 70 as well as taking five wickets in each innings to set up a comprehensive championship victory over Glamorgan.
He said: "I do not want to let Scotland or anyone else down and we will just have to wait and see how things work out."
