Prince Andrew, pictured, is to attend the opening of a multi-million complex at the Alfred McAlpine Stadium in Hudders-field on Tuesday.
The development at the North End includes a swimming pool, health and leisure facilities, business and conference centre, executive suites, bars, catering facilities and a coaching resource centre.
It marks the completion of development at the £30 million showpiece stadium to turn it into an international sporting venue.
The North End was developed with the help of £4.5 million from the National Lottery Sports Fund and £1.83 million from Kirklees Council. The latter raised the cash by selling a retail park.
The town's football and rugby clubs, sponsors and the government's regeneration agency English Partnerships also contributed finance.
Kirklees Stadium Development - the company set up as a partnership between the Council and Huddersfield's football and rugby clubs to run the stadium - is behind the transformation of the North End from previously derelict land.
Chairman Councillor Sir John Harman, who is the council leader, said the project had been a catalyst for regeneration of the surrounding area.
