ROBIN APPLEYARD is back in action in the British 125cc Championship at Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
Appleyard is just 20 points behind the championship leader with four rounds -- and a potential 100 points -- still to go.
"There is till plenty of time for me to make up the points and take the title. I have won the championship before and it would be a first time for the other riders.
"I have experience in my favour and we will have to see how their nerve holds," he said.
The five times champion has meetings at Cadwell Park, Donington, Brands Hatch and Silverstone to come and he is relishing the challenge.
"They are long circuits where you have time to fight your way back even after a poor start. The bike is going well and I just have to make sure I am on form," he said.
The Cadwell meeting is part of the MCN Superbike Championship where Carl Fogerty and other top performers will be riding. Last year the races attracted a crowd of almost 20,000.
n Top motorcycle trials riders will be heading to the Isle of Man.
Cullingworth rider Robin Luscombe will be leading the sidecar outfits when he takes on arch championship rivals Robin Morewood and Steve Radford with the winner getting a Manx Ceremonial Sword of State.
Dougie Lampkin tops the solo class on his Beta machine and is expected to win the event, although Manxman Steve Colley will be on home ground.
