THERE is a new venue for the popular Horsforth 10K Road Race - Horsforth's biggest sporting event which will be run on Sunday, September 27, starting at 11 am.
The race will for the first time be based at Horsforth School which is good news for the runners not just because the school has top class facilities but also because the fearsome finishing slope of Brownberrie Lane has been replaced by a gentler gradient leading to the school.
The event incorporates the Yorkshire Veterans' Championship and entries areb now being taken. Entry forms can be obtained from sports shops, leisure centres of by contacting J H Roberts, 19, Victoria Grove, Horsforth, LS18 4ST.
The race has attracted generous sponsorship from the Mid-Yorkshire Nuffield Hospital and this means that the winner will take home a cheque for £200. There are valuable prizes in all the usual age categories.
