NICOLA Cope has extra reason to celebrate her exam successes because she was in hospital just days before a vital A'-level. Nicola,18, of Tranmere Park, rounded off an 18-month battle with glandular fever with an operation which meant she missed a General Studies exam. But she was out in time for the Biology A'-level which she needed to gain a place at Hull University to read Biomedical Science. And a D in the all-important test plus a distinction in GNVQ Advanced Health and Social Care means the Guiseley School student will be on her way there in October. The daughter of
former Yorkshire and England cricketer Geoff Cope, Nicola is also a top sportswoman,
representing West Yorkshire at athletics and netball.
