Andrew Pullen produced his highest score in first team cricket on Saturday, with a superb 84 off 74 balls.
His big-hitting innings included six fours and four sixes to give the Silsden innings and impressive late lift.
After being 12 for one, with the loss of Bruce Walker early in the innings, it was David Jackson (29) and Tim Sugden (40) who began the Silsden recovery. Both batsmen were out within five balls, with the score on 79.
Andrew Knowles soon followed, trapped lbw for just five runs.
Pullen and Akrigg built a sixth wicket stand of 135, Akrigg finished with an unbeaten 40, his first 'not out' of the year.
Silsden reached 222-5 which was too many for the Illingworth batters who struggled to 26-5 against the opening attack of Roberts & Emmott.
Silsden, however, missed out on the full six points as Illingworth settled for a one-point draw, hanging on at 102-7.
Neighbours Addingham helped Silsden's promotion bid when they beat 3rd placed Collingham which gave Silsden, on 78 points, an eight point lead. Burley are top of the table with 84 points.
Steeton's chances of avoiding relegation were also given a major boost when they raced away with a 74-run victory over Guiseley.
Half centuries from Hayden Tennant (57) and Mark Hedges (55 not out) set them on course for a total of 212-7, despite a five-wicket haul from Guiseley opening bowler Paley.
Guiseley's innings never really clicked into gear. They enjoyed a 40-run opening partnership, but a middle order collapse forced them to settle for a draw and the Steeton bowlers could not beat the defiant defence which held out for a single point.
Although Steeton can still not relax Skipton or Calverley are favourites for the drop with Horsforth already relegated.
Steeton 2nds grabbed a 31-run victory over Illingworth with Adam Greenwood scoring a superb 67, backed up by a well worked 33no from Graham Harrison.
The bowlers also worked well to secure victory with the main contribution coming from Ashley Robinson with 4 for 37.
Silsden 2nds just missed out on the points in a high scoring match. They posted a total of 218-9 with Tillotson (63) leading the scoring.
Guiseley eased to a winning total with one over and five balls to spare.
This weekend Steeton travel to Calverley in a vital relegation battle and Silsden are at Division B strugglers Otley. Silsden 2nds are at home to Otley with Steeton 2nds at home to Skipton.
