NICK Brook, (pictured second left) of Ben Rhydding Golf Club, has won the annual Longhirst Golf Challenge for young golfers held at the Longhirst Hotel and golf complex in Northumberland.
Nick, aged 20, of Burley-in-Wharfedale, holds the Longhirst Challenge Trophy for a year.
With runner-up Ben Taylor 15, of Hexham Golf Club, Northumberland, he also won two nights with dinner, bed and breakfast at the Stutelead Hotel and Leisure Club, Southport, including two rounds of golf.
Nick, who said it was the first major competition he had entered, had a handicap of seven and a net total of 300.
The three-day 720-hole competition is for 21-year-olds and under, with a handicap of 12 or below, and included two nights at Longhirst, a converted stately home set in its own grounds.
