SILSDEN stock car star, Frankie Wainman jnr became the sport's Long Track World Champion after a stunning performance at Baarlo in Holland last weekend.
'Junior' beat defending Dutch former title holder, Ron Kroonder into second place with defending champion Lou Wobbes in third spot.
Driving his 600bhp Rapid Orange Tarmac Special, Frankie has regularly travelled to Holland and was determined to take the world title.
His victory adds a new dimension to the 1998 Short Track World Championship which is to be held in Coventry on September 19, with Frankie going for a Grand Slam. He is already BriSCA Formula One National Points Champion.
