Hundreds of people in the Bradford district paid tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales as special memorials were unveiled on the first anniversary of her death.
About 150 people stood silently in remembrance at civic ceremony in Centenary Square, Bradford. Dozens more attended another tribute in Market Square, Shipley.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Tony Miller, unveiled memorial plaques commemorating the anniversary and paying tribute to her life and work at both venues.
The short memorial service in Centenary Square was preceded by the playing of Elton John's anthem 'Candle in the Wind' on the bells of City Hall. A chill wind blew as people bowed their heads to remember the Princess.
Some people mouthed the words to the song as it played while others shed silent tears before the plaque dedicated to the 'People's Princess' was unveiled. It was inscribed with the words: "May her spirit, love and compassion live on".
Candles were lit and flowers with messages to the late Princess were laid around the memorial by the congregation.
Prayers praising her charitable work and strength of character were led by the Lord Mayor's chaplain, Father Michael Sullivan.
Coun Miller and the Bishop of Bradford, the Right Rev David Smith, were joined by a multi-faith congregation of community leaders and council leaders.
The Lord Mayor also dedicated a tree in the Princess's memory - one of 36 planted in the area for each year of her life.
