A regeneration expert has set up two key seminars to give Bradford textile bosses ideas on how to deal with their old mills.
Nigel Grizzard, co-ordinator of the National Mills Conference, has organised two seminars on mills in West Yorkshire because of demand from bosses in the area and abroad.
He said: "Our previous conferences have been very popular and many of the delegates asked for further specialised days on key mill themes. Even before mailing out the seminar information we have had delegates wanting to attend from Cork in Ireland, and we are confident we are going to have two exciting days."
He has organised the first one-day seminar, called Art Mills, at the Wakefield Arts Mill on Friday, October 9, between 10am and 3.30pm.
A second one has been planned, called Mill Condition, at Woolston House on the corner of Tetley Street and Grattan Road, Bradford, on October 14 between the same times.
The Wakefield event will be led by David Wright, chairman of Wakefield Arts Mill, and will include items from Robert Hopper, director of the Henry Moore Sculpture Trust, and Allan Brack, director of Bradford Festival.
The Bradford seminar will be led by Stuart Mills, principal structural engineer for Bullen Consultants and a member of the Mills Task Force.
He will be joined by Gordon Carey, director of Leeds architects Carey-Jones, and Mike Somers, a quantity surveyor from Somers and Partners in Leeds.
