OTLEY Town stalwart Bernard Thornton said that the club was well pleased to secure promotion.
'It is good for the club but we have been up and down so often over the past few years that perhaps I am a little cynical about it.
Howwever, if we can keep this team together I think we can do well in the higher division. Kafiat Hussain has been a quality player for us but we also have eight batsmen who are capable of making a fifty so we are a lot stronger now.'
Kafiat is a very good player and he is a quality player but I don't know if he will be with us next season.'
Thornton also said that they were somewhat in the dark about what was going on in tbe Leeds League with four clubs reportedly having put in their resignation and the league already being one club short.
