A yoga class at Airedale Hospital is opening its doors to stressed members of the public.
The yoga and relaxation class, which is run for the Airedale Cancer Support Group, is open to anyone who would like to participate.
The class was set up eight years ago for the benefit of patients recovering from cancer treatments.
Organisers say that yoga acts in a complementary way to traditional medicine, by helping those who feel stiff after treatment to regain a sense of bodily balance.
They also say that breathing and relaxation techniques employed by the class can help anyone become more physically and mentally relaxed.
The classes take place every Monday from 6.45-8.15pm in the hospital's day centre for the elderly.
Classes start again on September 14 and will break off for most of the school holidays.
Admission for members of the public is by a donation of £2, which will go to the cancer support group.
Patients and carers can join the group free of charge.
Anyone interested should contact Kathryn Dyer first on 01535 655207 for details. Organisers also stress that people must consult their doctor before joining the group.
