A company director has been disqualified following the collapse of a pet accessories firm.
Louisa Smith, of Southlands Avenue, Riddle-sden, was banned from company directorship for three-and-a-half-years at a hearing at Luton County Court. The ban follows her conduct as director of Rambla by Duchy Ltd. The firm, which traded from premises in Bradford, was placed into voluntary liquidation in November 1995 with debts of £23,050. Matters of unfit conduct found by the court included a failure to maintain adequate accounting records, failing to submit correct VAT returns, and trading when she should reasonably have been aware that the company was insolvent.
