Work is to begin in the next weeks on 12 vital road safety plans with a bid to cutting accidents across the district.
The £200,000 schemes were approved at the highways sub-committee meeting after officers said they wanted to start work as soon as possible.
Officers said they believed the measures would prevent a total of about 24 accidents a year.
The schemes - chosen after careful surveys which included accident figures - are:
Otley Road/New Otley Road - footpath extensions, road lining, estimated to save six accidents a year (£51,000);
Staygate roundabout, West Bowling - skid-resistant surfaces on Rooley Lane and Rooley Avenue, saving an estimated two accidents a year (£12,000);
A650 Shipley-Airedale Road junction with Bolton Road - skid-resistant surfacing and improved signals, predicted to save 1.3 accidents (£17,000);
Halifax Road junction with Royds Lane/Buttershaw Lane, Buttershaw - road markings, skid-resistant surfacing, estimated to save two accidents a year (£10,000)
Rooley Lane, Bradford - improve zebra crossing and provide anti-skid surfacing, predicted to save two accidents a year (£22,000)
Manchester Road/Smiddles Lane roundabouts - markings, saving four accidents (£16,700).
The schemes would be partly funded from the Council's government allocation for road schemes across the district.
Sub-committee chairman Councillor Phil Thornton said: "The Government recognises that we provide good value for money schemes. Bradford has a very good reputation in this field."
