THE Rev Michael Williams, new minister of Guiseley Methodist Church, has taken up his duties.
Mr Williams, 48, has moved to Guiseley from the Birmingham area where he served for 11 years. He will be in charge of Guiseley and Hawksworth Methodist churches.
A minister for 25 years Mr Williams, who was born in Hartlepool but raised in Norton, North Yorkshire, studied at the Wm Booth Memorial College in London and when he moved to Birmingham in 1987 he further studied at Queen's College, Edgebaston.
His wife, Moira, 47, hails from Scarborough and was for two and-a-half years assistant chaplain at the Birmingham Children's Hospital..
Mr Williams is interested in fly fishing and computers while his wife enjoys painting and working cross-stitch.
The couple have two daughters and three sons, Lisa, 27, Tobias, 26, Josephine, 22, Jonathon, 19, and Simon, 11, who is still living with his parents.
