Wetherby Ath Res 1
Pool 3
A NEW look Pool side visited Wetherby for the first game of the season and produced a performance of neat, flowing football.
With Pool well in control, it was only a matter of time before Shaun Joyce produced the goods with a well executed chip over the advancing Wetherby 'keeper. A dubious penalty allowed Wetherby back into the game, but it was not long before Pool took control again and the midfield of Healey, Field, Barton and Taylor all combined to send Joyce through for his second and a Pool half-time lead.
Pool started the second half where they had left off. The whole of the Pool team showed how determined they were to take all three points. Man of the Match Lee Ingle summed up the spirit of the team with his direct and combative attitude. With Pool 2-1 up a goal was needed to settle the match andthe impish Daz Myers sneaked into score to round off a successful start for new manager Martin Denyson.

Spa Ath Res 1
Pool Resreves started the new season much as the First XI with an eventually convincing victory, but it was late coming. Spa took a first-half lead when Martin was adjudged to have pulled down the visitor's striker on the edge of the penalty area, the resulting spot kick being converted.
Despite chances it was well into the second half before the equaliser came courtesy of a 25-yard Healeas shot into the top corner of the net. A solo run and goal by Tye put Pool in front, then, the best move of the match including Healeas, Skeoch and Tye put in Reddington to make up for his earlier penalty miss and seal the points. Craig Wilkinson, making his senior debut in the Pool goal, despite showing lack of experience at times, made some important interceptions and contributed to the victory. Match Point was shared between Skeoch and Healeas.
The 'A' team were without a fixture.
