AN Ilkley woman is biting her fingernails as she prepares to reach new heights for her favourite charity.
Suzie Smith (above), of Moorside Court, Cowpasture Road, will be up in the air this weekend to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Suzie has accepted the Breakthrough Breast Cancer £1,000 Challenge. She will be 'enjoying' a sponsored solo paraglide in Cumbria on Saturday.
The challenge is all the more
interesting for the Ilkley student as she has never tried paragliding before.
"Although quite nerve-wracking, this is an exciting way to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer," she said.
"In this country, more than a thousand women die from breast cancer every month. That is why I have taken up the challenge to raise £1,000 for Breakthrough, and I hope lots of people will support me," said Suzie.
The paragliding challenge is being dedicated to Suzie's mother, who has battled against the disease.
The money Suzie raises will go to help Breakthrough Breast Cancer fund vital research, which aims to find methods of prevention and ultimately, a cure for the disease.
