A DRINK driver told magistrates in Burnley he had only drunk four pints of shandy and wasn't "flouting the law".
Nursing home worker William Hughes, 37, of Colin Street, Barnoldswick, said: "I didn't consider myself over the limit, but obviously I was."
He was banned from driving for eight months, fined £300 and ordered to pay £45 costs after admitting driving with excess alcohol. The lower of two tests showed he had 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - well over the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
Hughes said he had to drive in his employment and to carry out his voluntary work.
