Pool Seconds made it a double for the club emulating their first team by winning the title after bowling Cookridge out for 80.
Pool went in to this Leeds league match eight points clear of Roundhay, who were also playing away to the Olicanians.
Each of these four teams coincidently were in the top four of the league table and with it being the final week made it extremely interesting with the top spot and promotion up for grabs.
Pool only required five points to guarantee the League Championship and they did it in fine style, bowling Cookridge out for 70 runs.
Due to some extremely good bowling and fielding, which has been extremely uniform throughout the season, Clive Singleton took four wickets and Julian Davey three.
Between them they have had an outstanding season with the ball. With the batting line-up Pool had taken to Cookridge, on paper it was just a matter of time before Pool could start their celebrations.
The only wicket lost was that of Martin Towers, who was caught behind, but Pool passed the Cookridge total with a fine blow for six from Steve Wood who has finished the season with an extremely impressive batting average of over 55, putting him in with a chance of an award in itself at the league dinner.
A lot of credit goes to Paul Huby who topped 500 runs this season and who has helped enormously in the running of the team this season as vice captain to Steve Winterburn, the Pool skipper.
