A community cafe could be launched in Keighley.
The idea will be discussed at a meeting in Keighley Women's Centre on Monday, at 1.30pm. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
A group of local people has put forward the proposal, for a non-profit-making cafe providing healthy and affordable snacks and meals.
The cafe would be situated in the Healthy Living Centre, in Oakworth Road, but could also provide outreach facilities. It may also offer a base for cultural events, cookery demonstrations, classes and workshops, and provide a venue for local artists and musicians to promote their work.
Jean O'Keeffe, of Keighley Women's Centre, says: "Dozens of ideas have been pooled. It is envisaged the cafe would be run by and for local people, and would be accessible to everyone equally.
"The cafe might provide a service for people visiting and working in the Healthy Living Centre, but also be a community facility in its own right. It could introduce people to alternative ways of cooking and eating."
