A growing haulage and distribution company has moved into impressive new premises and created extra jobs with the support of the Keighley Single Regeneration Budget Programme.
R H McDowell, which currently employs 30 workers, has won £12,000 from the Keighley Single Regeneration Budget Partnership to assist in its relocation from premises in Bradford Road, Riddlesden to a larger unit at Deal Street.
The total relocation cost the firm £50,000 which included creating a vehicle repair workshop and improvements to the building's security.
Roger McDowell, the firm's managing director, said: "The business had outgrown the old premises, so much so that expansion was impossible. This grant award will enable us to take the company forward in due course.
"We have worked closely with Bradford Council's Investment Unit and the Keighley SRB team and they have been very supportive in terms of advice and assistance. The move has created three new jobs and hopefully more will follow."
R H McDowell has been trading for more than 16 years and has gradually expanded its operations. The company now runs a fleet of 23 vehicles and provides haulage services for a number of major companies.
Under the Keighley SRB, £18.7 million of Government money is being invested in local regeneration schemes over a seven-year period.
