Graeme Bradley will attempt to clear his name today after his 14-year career ended in controversy with dismissal in Friday's elimination semi-final defeat at St Helens.
The former Bulls skipper's case was being heard later today with referee Stuart Cummings' report accusing the experienced Aussie of an attack to the head of Saints winger Chris Smith.
His report also refers to abusive remarks allegedly directed at him by Bradley once the red card had been produced 16 minutes into the game.
Bradley is expected to make a personal appearance at today's hearing despite the fact that he has hung up his boots.
Bradley commented after Friday's game: "It will be interesting to hear the referee's justification for what he did. We had made a good start and everything was going well.
"I don't know whether that had some influence on his decision. I didn't say anything that could have contributed to it.
"I was sent off for use of the elbow earlier this season and they got it wrong then. I will be interested to see what happens this time."
