Motor Sport: Baildon's Steve Patrickson rounded off an excellent season with two runner-up finishes at a wet Croft National Superbike meeting.
In the 125 race, Patrickson battled through from seventh on the first lap on his Peter Howell Honda and then had a terrific battle for second with 1997 British Champion Darren Barton, which went down right to the final turn.
"Darren and myself had a real fight. He was really pressing me in what were slippery conditions, but his challenge ended on the final hairpin when he crashed out while trying to pass me."
That left Patrickson in a comfortable second position, behind Welshman Ian Lougher and ahead of this years British Champion Chris Palmer.
Patrickson had his first outing on a 250cc machine for nine years, riding for Irish-based 'Team MSR', where he again finished in second, behind Team Vimto rider John McGuiness.
"The 250 bike was great, but the conditions weren't! With all the standing water on the track and I was happy to bring the bike back in one piece.
"I really want to get back into the 250cc class next year, but it all depends on what sponsorship we can raise."
