Drug users are being urged to get rid of dirty needles safely after used syringes were dumped at a Guiseley school.
Schools' liaison officer PC Dave Robson is calling on users to act more responsibly and use the Government-approved needle exchange schemes on offer at chemists.
He made the appeal after pupils of St Oswald's Junior School found scores of the dangerous needles pushed into a wall.
"There was blood in one of the syringes so we know they were used," he said. "Fortunately the children were very well aware of the dangers and did not take the caps off."
