Love has blossomed for Keighley pianist Amanda Thompson who won the heart of the nation with her fight against leukaemia.
The 18-year-old who played for Princess Diana at London's Savoy Hotel in 1996 has announced her engagement to boyfriend Curt Barker.
Amanda, now a laboratory assistant at Bradford's Ciba chemical plant in Low Moor, has been dating 20-year-old Curt for a year.
Amanda, of West Lane, Keighley, celebrated with a meal at a Keighley restaurant and she received a bouquet of flowers from Esther Rantzen who she met on the Hearts of Gold television programme.
Amanda, who is also doing a five year degree course at Huddersfield University, was given the all-clear from leukaemia earlier this year.
