Paul Jewell has called on his Bradford City side to match Bury physically tonight in what is sure to be a bruising encounter.
The City boss cites last season's 2-0 defeat at Gigg Lane an example of what can happen if they don't match their opponents. In that game, the Bantams could not cope with Bury's physical approach and could have easily lost by more then two goals.
However Jewell has warned his side there must be no repeat of the scenes which marred the clash with the Shakers at Valley Parade which eventually saw both clubs hauled before the FA.
Jewell said: "It will be a very physical game where we must match Bury throughout. This will be a game where we will really have to a result.
"If we don't match them then we will be in trouble. You only have to look at the defeat we suffered at Bury last season to know that.
"However we don't want to get involved in a battle either tonight because that will suit Bury. I don't want to see any nonsense like there was during the game at Valley Parade last season."
City have no fresh injury worries ahead of the game with only Craig Ramage and a couple of youth team players still affected by the stomach bug which had been a problem in recent weeks.
Striker Edinho is the only player added to the 15-man squad which travelled to Sunderland last week when City extended their unbeaten run to seven games.
Jewell believes the crowd have a role to play tonight during a game which could see Bury try to frustrate City.
"The crowd were superb against both Port Vale and Barnsley.
"They helped carry us through the Barnsley game and I hope they will do the same against Bury.
"I have seen Bury this season and they work tremendously hard. But I am also confident we can break them down as the most pleasing aspect of our play recently has been the number of chances we have been creating."
Bury, who at one stage were third in the table, have slipped to 12th after losing three matches in a row.
Meanwhile, City have had their final application for more tickets for the Worthington Cup tie at Leeds United turned down. The final 396 tickets sold out early this morning.
