Bradford City striker Edinho has joined Scottish Premier outfit Dunfermline for a three month loan spell.
The Brazilian has found it difficult to force his way into the Bantams side and has started just one league game this season.
The Scottish outfit are hoping 31-year-old Edinho, who was City's joint top scorer last season, can grab the goals to help them power away from the foot of the Premier League table. The loan spell has been arranged with a view to a permanent deal being done.
Both clubs have agreed a £120,000 fee with the Scottish side having already paid a non-returnable fee of £30,000.
City boss Paul Jewell said: "Edinho has been a model professional this season but because we have been playing so well, he has been unable to get into the side.
"He wants to play first team football and I hope the move works out for him."
The loan spell has to be for a minimum three-month spell due to Edinho being from a non-EC country.
Meanwhile, top scorer Lee Mills is facing a race against time to be fit for Saturday's clash with Swindon Town.
The 28-year-old took some heavy punishment during Tuesday's 1-0 victory at Tranmere with several Rovers defenders clattering into the back of Mills.
Jewell said: "Lee received six or seven heavy kicks on his legs with a particularly bad one on the back of his calf."
Rankin also suffered a dead leg although Jewell is confident he will face Swindon.
City this morning sold all their 3,900 allocation for the crunch West Yorkshire derby with Huddersfield Town in nine days time.
The reserves beat Sheffield United 2-1 yesterday thanks to two own goals. Paul Bolland was the star man while Jewell also used the game to give a trial to Italian central defender Davide Bianchini.
l City have re-arranged their clash with Crystal Palace for Tuesday, January 19, kick off 7.45pm. Season ticket holders will be admitted free of charge on production of voucher 'P' while other fans who attended the first game will be admitted for half price on production of their ticket stub or abandoned match voucher.
