Traffic-calming measures on the main road through Woodhouse and Spring Bank are set to go ahead. Bradford councillors meeting on Wednesday are expected to approve proposals for speed-reducing humps on the northern end of Hainworth Wood Road.
The humps will also be fitted to Haincliffe Road, which is plagued with heavy lorries running between Ingrow and Parkwood. The £30,000 package of measures also includes a 20mph speed limit covering the length of the traffic-calmed roads. And a change of priority will be introduced at the junction of Hainworth Wood Road and Woodhouse Road.
The proposals have received widespread support from local residents who claim the roads are used as a rat-run to bypass Keighley town centre.
The work will be jointly funded by Keighley Area Panel, the local arm of Bradford council, and the council's casualty reduction scheme.
A heavy-goods vehicle ban was introduced on the roads last year.
as part of moves to make the roads safer and improve the environment.
