Shipley residents and community groups gathered on Saturday to help put together a plan of action to improve the area.
Shipley Labour MP Chris Leslie and local ward councillors led discussions and workshops at the annual Shipley Constituency Area Conference held at Shipley College.
The conference is part of Bradford Council's community plan to listen to the grass roots of the community for feedback on its performance and suggestions on improvement.
The conference was addressed by Mr Leslie and Council leader Ian Greenwood before opening the floor to residents for a series of discussions on crime, planning, health, refuse and regeneration in Shipley.
Mr Leslie said: "It's the Council working together with the public and private sector putting together the best strategy possible and listening to local people about what they think is going on in their neighbourhood."
"The plan is to listen to all parts of the local community, hear what residents have to say and hopefully change what we do to serve their wishes more closely."
